No Line on the Horizon could have been one honey of an EP. Cull the good-to-great tracks (Magnificent, Cedars of Lebanon, title track) and cut away the horrors (King of Comedy remains the worst thing the band has ever recorded) and it’s a respectable showing. Yet here we are with the inevitable reissue. There was a time when I would have hoped for bonus tracks (unheard gems!), but not with this one. No Line was already heavy on chaff, light on wheat. Looking back, however, it contained the last sparks from a once-great band before going Coldplay into the dark night.
